| Question: Why did you start the Cartersville Dance
Email List?
Answer: I want to provide a place in Cartersville GA where dancers can take a
dance lesson followed by a dance social. I also want to hold dance
workshops several times a year on Saturdays to help build peoples dance
skills. A large enough dance email list should help with those
goals. When I moved to Cartersville in the summer of 2003 from
Jacksonville, FL I started looking for dance lessons followed by a dance
social and I found that Atlanta and surrounding areas was my only
options. In early 2007 I decided to bring couples dancing to
Cartersville. In late October I began to hold a dance lesson followed by
a dance social on Tues nights (7-8pm Lesson, 8-10pm Social) at the Ambra
Restaurant (by Jittery Joe's coffee shop). |
| Question: What type of dancing is offered?
Answer: I usually teach West Coast Swing (WCS) because you can
dance WCS to about 75% of all the songs normally played by a DJ at most
dance clubs. For slow songs we teach Rumba and Night Club 2 Step.
The other popular dances that we teach are East Coast Swing, 2 Step, Cha
Cha, Salsa, Hustle, Shag and other Latin & Ballroom dances.

| Question: Is there an age group or age limit and what is the
cost?
Answer: For the Tue night dance at the Ambra Restaurant there is
no age limit. Currently teenagers accompanied by an adult get in
free. For $5.00 you get the dance lesson & social. |
| Question: Do you have to bring a partner?
Answer: Singles and couples are welcome. We rotate partners
very frequently during the class so no partner is needed. |
| Question: What other goals do you have for dance in
Cartersville?
Answer: Once I get a large enough dance email list and
interest in couples dancing, I'd like to have a dance venue for the
following dance nights: Singles Mingle, Teen Night, Latin (Salsa
etc...), Country, Ballroom and Swing. I'm also looking for
opportunities to bring couples dancing to teenagers and college age
students. I welcome any ideas. I want to leave a legacy of
dance. |
