Remote Desktop (client for Terminal Services)

Install "Remote Desktop"

Terminal Services Configuration

Make these settings to allow software installs on a server via Terminal Services using Remote Desktop. If the software install needs to reboot and then continue you will need to make the following changes.

Programs, Administrative Tools, Terminal Services Configuration, Server Settings

	Delete temporary folders on exit = NO
	Use temporary folders per session = NO

Session Maintenance via DOS.

Make sure you always "Logoff" the server. If you kill the window the session will stay open. As a default, Terminal Services allows 2 sessions.

To kill a session (Win 2000)

	Go to the DOS Prompt
	C:\> query session
	c:\> logoff <session #>

Session Maintenance via Terminal Services Manager

To kill a session (Win 2000)

	Start, Programs, Administrative Tools, Terminal Services Manager.
	Click on the tab for "Users"
	Right click on a user and choose "Disconnect".
