- Remote Desktop (client for Terminal Services)
- Terminal Services Configuration
- Make these settings to allow software installs on a server via
Terminal Services using Remote Desktop. If the software install
needs to reboot and then continue you will need to make the following
changes.
- Programs, Administrative Tools, Terminal Services Configuration,
Server Settings
- Delete temporary folders on exit = NO
- Use temporary folders per session = NO
- Session Maintenance via DOS.
- Make sure you always "Logoff" the server. If you kill the
window the session will stay open. As a default, Terminal Services
allows 2 sessions.
- To kill a session (Win 2000)
- Go to the DOS Prompt
- C:\> query session
- c:\> logoff <session #>
- Session Maintenance via Terminal Services Manager
- To kill a session (Win 2000)
- Start, Programs, Administrative Tools, Terminal Services
Manager.
- Click on the tab for "Users"
- Right click on a user and choose "Disconnect".
