 | I've found that transfering data via the Parallel port works at 3 Meg's/Min. Be
ready for a long haul!

GHOSTPE.exe |
Create a bootable disk
with GHOST.exe
 | "My Computer", then right click on Floppy A, then choose "Format".

 | Format type = "full", check "Copy system files"
|
 | Copy the program "GHOST.exe" or "GHOSTPE.exe" from the install CD or
from the Norton Ghost install directory.

This process works for
Win95/98 & Win NT (I've tested). Supposed to work for other platforms. On both
machines, Boot up in DOS with a disk having the file GHOST.exe (or GHOSTPE.exe) |
Disk Imaging from
PC A to PC B via a Parallel Cable |
Copy the entire disk
image from PC A to PC B. (Win95/98, WinNT) All data on PC B is lost. No
partitions or formatting neccessary on PC B (blank drive from manufacturer).
"Load Ghost" (see topic above) on both PC's.

| Upgrade to a Larger
drive in a Laptop or one drive PC. Copy PC A's disk image to a file on PC B, then
restore the disk image to a new drive in PC B. |
PC B's data is not
damage. A file from PC A will be stored on PC B, then install a new drive in PC A
and image that Drive. Copy a Disk Image to a File on another PC
First, "Load Ghost" (see topic above) on both PC's.

| Chose a Path and File name. |

Restore Image from PC B's image file to PC A's new disk.
First, "Load Ghost" (see topic above) on both PC's.

| Find the image on the Remote PC by selecting the Drive and Filename. |

| Select the Local Destination Drive |

Change the Partition size if neccessary, by pressing enter on the
partition row listing.
(Note: the software will adjust the byte size to the closeth cylinder and show bytes
free.) |
